    Spending your Wallet balance

At boost checkout you can pay from your Wallet instead of a card. Here is how it behaves.

    Updated September 3, 2026

Your Wallet balance is one of two ways to pay for a boost — the other is a card through Stripe.

    Paying from the Wallet

At boost checkout, the FameRace Wallet option appears only when your balance covers the full boost. Choose it and the amount comes straight out of the Wallet — no card is charged, and the debit shows up in your /wallet ledger right away.

    If the balance isn't enough

The Wallet can't go negative and there's no top-up, so a boost larger than your balance has to be paid another way:

    • Pay by card (Stripe) for that boost, or
    • Wait until more referral cashback lands and your balance grows.
Wallet payments follow the same boost rules as any other method. The $100,000 per-boost cap still applies. See boost payment methods.
In rare cases Wallet spending can be put on hold: if a boost that earned you cashback is later flagged by our payment provider as suspected fraud and the cashback has already been spent, your account can't pay for boosts from the Wallet while the payment is under review. Cashback keeps landing and card payments still work — you'll see "Wallet spending is on hold for this account while a payment is under review" at checkout. The hold is lifted once the review clears; contact support@famerace.com if you think it's a mistake.
